IF (and that's the main point of my findings so far) public health HAD BEEN A SCIENCE, it would have rock-solid empirical proofs about ALL its NPIs in various textbooks.

There would be no scope for any political pressure to be used, whether from Xi or from anyone else.

BUT PH is NOT a science. It is the BIGGEST ORGANISED GANG OF CRIMINALS IN HUMAN HISTORY.

There's one more common link between religious and "public health" mythology: faith in the power of priests.

- a FEELING that priests, who've spent decades in "studying" the religion, know all the answers. This is particularly acute where religious scriptures are complex (as most are). E.g. the Vedas in Vedic (not traditional/ tantric!) Hinduism have at least 20,000 verses in Sanskrit which takes a lifetime to master. The meaning of these verses is confused and confusing, so "priests" are expected to pontificate on their interpretation.

LIKEWISE, in PH:

- there's a FEELING that mathematical modelers, who've spent decades in the areas, know all the answers. When a modeler draws a chart and makes a mathematical prediction, it is assumed he is channeling GOD HIMSELF!

Of course, both these "priesthoods" have NOTHING to do with science.

I noted last year that PH bears a great resemblance to THEOLOGY. That's still true. PH has all the trappings of a religion.

Commie thugs try to have it both ways.

When Anders Tegnell stood tall in 2020 and argued against lockdowns, he was criticized by the entire global media and politicians. They insisted that Sweden's failure to lockdown will kill thousands of people.

When conclusive data emerged that Sweden had no excess deaths even as all other countries massacred their citizens, they now claim that Sweden actually locked down! Apparently, Sweden's low deaths are because they locked down!

Public health had three phases, the medieval, classical and modern.

Medieval and modern public health have been KILLERS.

We need to revert to classical (scientific) public health - but the academia in PH is occupied by socialists. It may take decades, if not centuries, to stop this killer organisation.

But we need to be clear about what we want. We want the abolition of quarantine and abolition of socialism in public health (eugenics has largely disappeared by now).

I suspect there's one more medical textbook that should emerge from this work.

In addition to a book on quarantine, we need a textbook on medical panics and isolation.

Doctors need to know why quarantine won't work, but also why isolation WILL WORK (in many cases), and how isolation needs to be done very well, in order to reduce medical and other panic.

Medicine and public health need to give up quarantine but implement very strong (yet humane) isolation of the sick, instead.

My first-principles review of public health can be compared with the assay of a goldsmith who examines whether a coin is genuine gold or a fake.

Public health goes about with a bumper sticker called “Science”.

My review has shown, however, that almost everything that public health does today is NOT science.

Even the best of public health doctors today practice a lot of quackery and Scientism.

My overall analysis is that public health is junk “medicine”, junk “science”. And like any other junk medicine, it is much more harmful than beneficial.

We need to make a bonfire of the textbooks of public health and start afresh.

Every element of public health needs to be reconsidered and redesigned from scratch.

ETHICS AND MATHS ARE EASY, SCIENCE IS HARD!

Why has public health degenerated so steeply after Bentham and Chadwick?

Because it is SO MUCH EASIER to do words (ethics) and maths (models), and so much harder to do empirical analysis.

The CBA that I drafted for Gigi Foster took me many months of SERIOUSLY HARD work. To prepare an "ethics" document or a mathematical model would have taken me a fraction of that time - and close to zero mental effort.

(Maths, zero effort? Yes, Maths is mechanical: once you've got the hang of it, it flows like water. As PhD students, we typically hand-wrote mathematical models in the economics core exam that covered 25 pages - in less than an hour. I've done maths all my life and it is definitely NOT science - it is the easiest thing to do: purely mechanical).

PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH:

1. Just because you can do maths, doesn't mean you are doing science (e.g. epidemiological or economics models).

2. Just because you are a wordsmith, and can dream up new combinations, doesn't mean you are doing science (e.g. ethics, sociology).

SCIENCE IS ABOUT EMPIRICISM - 100%.

Anyone can do science through observation and induction. Doesn't require maths or wordsmithy.

IN SUMMARY:
1. Models and ethics are NOT science.
2. A Cost-Benefit Analysis with empirically determined inputs IS science.

HOW DO WE FIX PUBLIC HEALTH?

The FIRST step in the reform of public health is for the discipline to hire GOOD economists (not stupid ones like Amartya Sen or Paul Krugman) in the various faculties of public health.

These economists' job would be to explode the COMMUNIST MYTHOLOGIES that are rampant in the PH literature and textbooks.

Only by getting rid of 90% of the content in current PH textbooks and literature, can sanity ever return to public health.
