One thing I've seen people have misunderstood about h.i.jra in this time is thinking they'll be accommodated in the land of sacrifice with everything they leave behind in the west and its very crucial for everyone who intends to tread this path to understand that you are about to enter a whole new phase of life. It's a life that entails difficulty and loss and some of the most gut wrenching moments of your existence but also the most honorable and most rewarding journey you will ever make.

The h.i.jra stories of the sahaba RA are not there for you to just read and admire. They are reoccurring throughout history and the nature of their path is the same as ours to this day, so take heed to them. It requires serious resolve, patience upon harm and loss, endurance on a long tiresome road with little provision to attain the commodity of Allah,

الا وهي جنة الفردوس الأعلى

Abdullah bin Mas`ud رضي الله عنه said,

"Charity falls in Allah's Hand before it falls in the needy's hand,"

he then recited this Ayah,

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقَـتِ

(Know they not that Allah accepts repentance from His servants and accepts the Sadaqat).

وَأَنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

and that Allah alone is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful!

9:104

أَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ يَقۡبَلُ ٱلتَّوۡبَةَ عَنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَأۡخُذُ ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Do they not know that it is Allāh who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allāh who is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful?

أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقَاتِ

Know they not that Allah accepts repentance from His servants and accepts the Sadaqat,

This Ayah encourages reverting to repentance and giving charity, for each of these actions erases, deletes and eradicate sins.

Allah states that He accepts the repentance of those who repent to Him, as well as charity from pure resources, for Allah accepts it with His Right Hand and raises it for its giver until even a date becomes as large as Mount Uhud.

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said,

إِنَّ اللهَ يَقْبَلُ الصَّدَقَةَ وَيَأْخُذُهَا بِيَمِينِهِ فَيُرَبِّيهَا لاَِحَدِكُمْ كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ مُهْرَهُ حَتَّى إِنَّ اللُّقْمَةَ لَتَكُونُ مِثْلَ أُحُد

Verily, Allah accepts charity, receives it in His Right Hand and develops it for its giver, just as one of you raises his pony, until the bite (of food) becomes as large as Uhud.

There was a sister who would give from her money in charity to other sisters in need, when giving the money to the sisters in need they would often refuse,

So she would tell them, "This is your rizq from Allah. I am just chosen by Him to deliver it to you!"

If you are in a position from which you can extend help to those in need, see it as a blessing from Allah upon you, rather than just the receiving end. You may be in need of the reward more than any material help you could offer to them.

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

"O Allah, help me in remembering You, in giving You thanks, and worshipping You well."

"Truly, there is a Heaven in this world, [and] whoever does not enter it, will not enter the Heaven of the next world."

Take time to enjoy the simple yet great delights in this fleeting Dunya,

i.e prayer, contemplation of the verses in the Quran, remembering every time Allah saved you from a difficulty, realizing how far Allah has brought you and protected your emaan when others cannot see beyond their misguidance. No matter what trials you're going through, don't let it deprive you of enjoying and showing gratitude to Allah for the blessings you have.

It could be a mere realization of one of these things that allow you to taste a sweetness which you would never trade your current situation for any other type of life.

*"So, striving in Allah's Cause, even if it is accompanied by the loss of lives and destruction of buildings, being driven out of one's home, imprisonment, broken bones and amputation, from all that which is disliked by the souls, it's interest/benefit is much greater than these temporary losses. There is in it the honor of this worldly life and the Hereafter. So Allah The All Wise Ordered us with striving in His Cause knowing well what happens in it, and He said:

{وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ}

{And Allāh knows, while you know not.}"*
