Here are some TIPS on how to excel your NUS Application Form‼️🔥

1. Keep track of application deadlines Different deadlines differ across universities, so if you are applying for more than 1 university, you definitely will not want to miss out on the application deadline.

2. Save your application form in a separate document
When applying, draft everything in a separate word document before copy them into the actual application form. Having this back-up copy will prevent data losses if the application portal fails to auto-save your form.

3. Check the criteria for each major When selecting your choice of study, refer to the faculty’s website to ensure that you have met the criteria for reading that major (e.g. have taken a compulsory subject).

4. Add more options under the choice of study
Even if you are firmly set on one particular course, do include more options when selecting your choice of study. This will increase your chances of getting into NUS. You could always opt to switch majors after studying for 1-2 semesters (subject to approval by faculty).
5. Showcase your diverse CCAs and experiences
When drafting your short essays, include varying experiences for each question (e.g. your sports CCAs, leadership experience, internship, volunteering etc), try to relate your past experience to why you are motivated to pursue your desired course. Note that NUS not only focuses on your academic excellence, but also highly values your extracurricular activities.

6. Use simple and concise language Given the word limit, use concise language which allows the admission officer to get to know you better. Avoid bombastic vocabulary and overly descriptive phrases. While showcasing your achievements, instead of merely stating what you have done, include the lessons you’ve learnt, or the impact you have made, or how the experience aligns with your values.
