Malibu was looking a lot like Paris—especially like the street style scene that unfolds outside of Miu Miu’s buzzy fashion shows. Girls and boys in micro-miniskirts and bras for tops descended on the Malibu Pier for a beachside fete in celebration of the Italian fashion label’s 1-day only pop-up. Just before the sun would set into the Pacific Ocean, the Miu Miu Summer Club opened. There were Miu Miu-branded lifebuoys and beach carts doling out refreshments. I was there, sporting a blue one set with a tiny white polkadots and a white mini bag. I could be seen chatting it up with a friend of mine (and Miu Miu darling) Hailee Steinfeld. Just before the sun set on the Pacific Ocean, the Miu Miu Summer Club flag was hoisted high, kicking off its opening day with a very special launch. With a special performance by Georgia Gets By and branded buoys, beach carts, and other bespoke treatments to provide a photo op or three, Miu Miu captured the unmistakable ease of a summer afternoon at sea. And as the star-studded crowd descended upon the sun-soaked locale all dressed in Miu Miu, no less the models, musicians and actors alike had fun with a host of wellness activations and an abundance of chic refreshments. But as with any celebrity fashion affair, the style was thoroughly on-point. And as we’ve come to know of Miu Miu, looks are all about what you bring to them.
