Non-stick pans have become very popular over the past decade. They are easy to use and convenient to clean. However, many do not know that they are very dangerous due to chemicals that cause various health problems.
DuPont, the manufacturer of such cookware, knew about their toxicity as early as the 1970s but concealed this danger. Few know that the non-stick and waterproof coating was originally invented to protect... tanks from corrosion. But then they decided to implement the innovation into cookware.
Pan manufacturers were well aware of the illnesses that people working on the production line suffered from (a whole range of diseases, including cancer). However, this information only began to be disclosed in the last decade—and only under public pressure.
All of this is actually discussed in the movie "Dark Waters" starring Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway. Definitely watch it.
So, what kind of pans do you use?
Meanwhile, doctors have discovered an unknown bacterium capable of causing a new pandemic (just what we needed).
Hypervirulent bacteria, resistant to antibiotics and potentially capable of causing the next pandemic, have been found in more than ten countries.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned about the deadly danger of the Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria family. These bacteria are harmless when located in the gut. However, if they spread to other parts of the body, such as the lungs, they can cause severe infections ranging from pneumonia and meningitis to serious liver damage and immune system impairment.
This pathogen has been found in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as in Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Cambodia, China, India, Iran, Japan, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Switzerland, and Thailand.
Hypervirulence means an increased ability to cause serious illness in healthy people. These strains are capable of infecting a large number of people simultaneously.
Let's talk about pigmentation spots. I just returned from Italy covered in them. Even SPF 50 didn't help. As you understand, they can appear not only from the sun.
Pigmentation spots can arise due to hormonal imbalances, thyroid or liver diseases. In women, they often appear during pregnancy or with gynecological issues.
Treatment methods:
Prescription whitening creams alone or together with retinoids (tretinoin) and a mild steroid gradually remove spots over several months.
Fractional laser (Fraxel) is one of the most popular methods. It works by creating thousands of microscopic zones of thermal damage on the skin, stimulating cell renewal and collagen production.
Q-Switched laser works based on short pulses of high-energy light that break down melanin pigment without damaging the surrounding tissues.
Alexandrite laser emits light with a wavelength of 755 nm, which is well absorbed by melanin. It is especially effective for treating pigmentation spots on light skin.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). Effective for treating superficial pigmentation spots and improving skin texture.
Chemical peels. They rejuvenate the skin well.
And remember, no methods will be effective if you don't first address liver issues and ensure proper bile flow.
Do you have pigmentation spots? How do you deal with them?
Happy Monday evening, guys.
