⁉️ ***Some people think history has little or nothing to offer, while others say the study of the past helps us understand the present.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.⁉️***
*There is a view that nearly nothing can be learned through history although some argue that the present can be interpreted based on the past actions. I believe that the past has a direct correlation with the present as a means of reflection of the actions of our descendants, while it is still worthwhile to note that sometimes learning history might prove to be useless due to its irrelevance to a specific scenario and mental limitations of people.
The main reason why learning history has been a vital point in peoples’ lives has to do with the roots of current living circumstances. Throughout millions, if not billions, of years, people have been making conclusions about the way how this life is organized based solely on the past events and their consequences. This is because there is a famous quote stating ‘The History Repeats Itself’ and if something bad has happened before, then there is a decent probability of that catastrophe being repeated, and people, in that case, need to take precautions for the prospective cases. Facing the burden brought up by natural disasters, for instance, has long been one of the main problems that people encountered in early days of life. Fortunately, the world population has managed to curb these ecological issues by carefully forecasting the weather conditions and preparing for potential disasters beforehand. Therefore, people have come to study history to prevent the occurrence and the repetition of unwanted cases with the purpose of striving to improve their living standards and aim for the highest feats without being pushed back by undesirable things
Despite history playing a crucial role in ensuring both necessary living conditions and further development for people, learning it might sometimes be a waste of time and effort due to its futility in given situations. This means that there can be too much information embodied in the world history. As a result, learning the entire history by overlooking its dependance and relevance to certain peoples’ current living circumstances might not lead to any positive outcomes for learners. That is why it would be better if people had a special approach, along with a specific purpose towards learning history. This might be showcased best in a career development process. If one is going to major in business, they should focus more on the business industry’s history rather than any other area of history as there is a lot to be learned from past successful businessmen. In addition, there are limitations in the functioning of an individual’s mind as well. This is because the capacity of humane brain is restrained by biological norms as its efficiency in memorizing and comprehending information gets worsened during peoples’ lifetime, especially after their early thirties. That is to say that, again, the history of humanity is too broad and however people would try to learn it completely, it will be almost unfeasible to absorb and keep the track of that whopping amount of information.
In conclusion, I share the view of an enthusiastic history learner since people have reached such impressive results by the present time giving credit for their careful reflection of the past events and the significance of history in their lives, while this view still can be refuted claiming that the whole history cannot be learned given the biological restrictions in human mind and irrelevance of the better part of history for certain people.*

*The increasing competition for university admissions is a topic of significant debate. While some argue that the intense rivalry for places can lead to stress and disappointment for many applicants, I believe this is a positive development. This heightened competition fosters a culture of excellence and underscores the pivotal role universities play in shaping students' futures.
One of the primary reasons for the increased difficulty in gaining university admission is the fierce competition, which drives students to strive for excellence. The high stakes associated with university acceptance compel students to invest considerable effort in their academic and extracurricular pursuits. For example, in the United States, a country known for its highly selective universities, both domestic and international students demonstrate unwavering dedication and commitment. They prepare rigorously for standardized tests and build impressive portfolios by engaging in diverse extracurricular activities. This intense preparation pushes applicants to step out of their comfort zones and aim for excellence, ultimately enhancing their personal growth and responsibility. Therefore, the competitive nature of university admissions is crucial for motivating students to become more diligent and well-rounded individuals.
Furthermore, universities play a vital role in developing both the academic and moral competencies of students, and their competitive nature is a testament to this. Historically, higher education institutions have focused on elevating individual standards, significantly impacting students' development. By broadening students' horizons and providing numerous opportunities for research and discovery, universities foster an environment of intellectual growth. Consequently, students remain eager to take advantage of the opportunities offered by these institutions. Without the increasing competitiveness of universities, their prestige and status could diminish due to a lack of interest and engagement from prospective students. Thus, maintaining a competitive admission process ensures that universities continue to uphold their high standards and mission.
While the growing competition for university admission is largely positive, it is essential to recognize that university education does not always meet students' expectations. Some applicants may have unrealistic expectations, believing that a university degree guarantees success in life. However, success is influenced by various factors beyond academic qualifications, such as practical experience and personal skills. Therefore, students should not solely focus on pursuing higher education but also consider other aspects of life, such as entrepreneurial ventures or securing leadership positions in major companies, which can lead to promising outcomes.
In conclusion, I believe that the increasing competition for university admission is a beneficial trend. It encourages students to strive for excellence and acknowledges the crucial role of universities in personal and academic development. However, it is also important to recognize that university education is not the sole determinant of success, and students should balance their academic pursuits with other life goals.*
