This joyous event shows the mission of the Church bearing fruit, as St. Olga belonged to a people who were evangelized relatively recently, with the Ecclesiastical Mission in Alaska only beginning in 1794.

Dormition of the Theotokos Orthodox Church in Uhrusk, Poland. Built in 1849, it is a parish of the Diocese of Lublin and Chełm under the Polish Orthodox Church. The church was originally built as a Uniate parish, but in 1875 it was incorporated into the Orthodox Church by the Russian authorities at the time, and survived the forcible transfer and liquidation of many Orthodox churches by Polish authorities in the 1920s. Currently the parish is under renovation as part of a larger project to maintain the historic Orthodox parishes of the area around Chełm, which is being funded by the St. John the Thelogian Church there.
