A YouTube Channel Apparently Tricked People Ahead Of 'Glowtime' Event. Video Shows Tim Cook 'Asking For Bitcoin'

A fake YouTube channel called Apple, which is a company for the new upcoming iPhone 16 Series, tricked people ahead of the Glowtime event on September 9, 2024. An AI-generated video of CEO Tim Cook asking for Bitcoin was streamed until it was taken down. Millions were tricked into watching the fake livestream, which mimicked the official iPhone 16 launch.

Apple is set to launch the iPhone 16 series with on-device AI features during the event. iOS 18 will be released, but it won't support all iPhone models. Compatible models include the iPhone 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, XS, XR, and SE (2nd and 3rd gen). Apple Intelligence AI features will arrive with iOS 18.1.

KDE Slimbook Plasma VI Linux Ultrabook Launches with AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS

The KDE Slimbook Plasma VI is a new Linux-powered ultrabook launched by Slimbook and KDE, featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor, up to 96GB of RAM, and an 80Wh battery. It has a 16-inch 2K display with 120Hz refresh rate, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, multiple USB ports, and an HDMI port.

The ultrabook comes with KDE Plasma 6.1 pre-installed and starts at €1,098.99 (~$1,218 USD) for the base model with 16GB RAM and 250GB SSD.

Apple Music now lets you export playlists directly to YouTube Music (1/2)
Apple has launched a new tool allowing users to easily transfer their playlists from Apple Music to YouTube Music. The tool only transfers playlists you created, and it excludes music files, non-collaborative shared playlists, curated playlists, and organized folders.

The transfer process is done through Apple's Data and privacy page. However, the tool doesn't support transfers to Spotify or any other service.

TL;DR: Krutrim Cloud: Free for Developers, but What Actually Works?

Krutrim Cloud has provided free credits, ₹10000, till Diwali. Only Language Translation/Interpretation and a few models actually work. Their "krutrim/Krutrim-spectre-v2" model is essentially GPT-3, and their Language translation service works, which has only a few languages and uses their own "Krutrim-Translate" model.

Finally, their Compute service for virtual machines through VMs has been nothing but a mess. They give ₹10,000 in free credits, but the VMs are just stuck at "In Progress". (Confirmed with @TejasXD and @Raveen2k3). Now, no VMs except Bare Metal GPU VMs are available to create. (Confirmed with @ardwivedi16)

To summarise, Krutrim's own model feels more like a rebranded GPT-3 than an AI made in India. Their Compute service is already wrong on so many levels making it hard to ascertain what value they offer.
