I could never Not-Belong

The ballroom of my mind was my home where I belonged for Home was never a building with my parents in it,
It wasn’t a town with my cousins, aunts or uncles in it either.

To me, home was a state of mind,
A twenty-something piece image in my head, all of which were part memory, part self made.
Part descriptive , part non-descriptive.

It wasn’t essentially factual, but it was real. It was felt a million times before.
However, out of reach, out of touch; And so it was safe where it belonged; *and I was just as safe where I belonged

And that I did not give to anyone the responsibility for my life. It is mine. I made it. And can do what I want to with it.
Live it. Give it back, someday, without bitterness, to the wild and weedy dunes.
