السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته يا اخواني واخواتي

I wish to make a request for the day of ‘Ashūrā’ specifically. I ask that all of us ask Allāh with the Du’ā’ from Mūsā (عليه الصلاة والسلام) against Fir’awn and his people, with the intentions of asking this same Du’ā’ but against the Tawāghīt of today and their followers who oppress our fellow beloved Muwwahhid brothers and sisters all over Allāh’s Earth. The Du’ā’ can be found in Sūrah Yūnus(10), Āyah 88. The Du’ā’ is as follows:
قال الله تعالى: رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ ءَاتَيْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَأَهُۥ زِينَةًۭ وَأَمْوَٰلًۭا فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا رَبَّنَا لِيُضِلُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِكَ ۖ رَبَّنَا ٱطْمِسْ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَٱشْدُدْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ١٠:٨٨

Allāh Said: “Our Lord! You have granted Pharaoh and his chiefs luxuries and riches in this worldly life, ˹which they abused˺ to lead people astray from Your Way! Our Lord, destroy their riches and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment.” Sūrah Yūnus(10), Āyah 88

May Allāh Release and Relieve our brothers and sisters in captivity all over the Earth. May He Grant victories upon victories to those gathering dust upon their feet, walking the path of ultimate sacrifice. May He Accept all of their deeds and those who have returned to Him and those who will return to Him by His Favour.

Tomorrow is the 9th of Muharram, a day our beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم enjoined upon us to fast. And the day after that is 'Ashura, which we are also enjoined to fast.

Narrated by Ahmad from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Fast the day of 'Ashura, and be different from the Jews with regard to it; fast the day before it or the day after it.” 

But why have we been instructed to fast on this day?

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
When the Prophet (ﷺ) came to Medina, he found (the Jews) fasting on the day of 'Ashura' (i.e. 10th of Muharram). They used to say: "This is a great day on which Allah saved Moses and drowned the folk of Pharaoh. Moses observed the fast on this day, as a sign of gratitude to Allah." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I am closer to Moses than they." So, he observed the fast (on that day) and ordered the Muslims to fast on it.

-Sahih al-Bukhari 3397

And what is the reward for this fast?
Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم was asked about fasting on the day of 'Ashura and he said:

He was asked about fasting on the day of 'Ashura (10th of Muharram), whereupon be said: It expiates the sins of the preceding year.

-Sahih Muslim 1162b

So this short fast carries such a great reward. So don't miss out on the bounties of your Lord and fast on these two days إن شاء الله

Ibn al-Qayyim said :

قال ابن القيم : إذا أراد الله بالعبد خيرًا : أَعانَه بالوقت، وجعل وقته مُساعدًا له، وإذا أراد به شرًا : جعل وقته عليه، وَنَاكَدَهُ وقته؛ فكلّما أراد التّأهب للمسير: لم يُساعدهُ الوقت ، والأول: كُلّمَا هَمّتْ نفسه بالقعود أَقامه الوقت وسَاعدهُ

If Allāh wants good for His servant, He assists him with time, making his time an aid for him.

And if He wants evil for him, He makes his time work against him and causes his time to frustrate him. Whenever he wants to prepare for the journey, time does not help him.

As for the first one, whenever his soul desires to rest, time compels him to move and assists him.

1st Muharram 1446 hijri

Muharram: The Month of Salvation from Oppression

Muharram, the first month of the Hijri calendar, is described by the Prophet ﷺ as "Allah’s month" (Sahih Muslim). It holds a special status as one of the four sacred months mentioned in the Quran, alongside Dhul Qa’dah, Dhul Hijjah, and Rajab. Fasting on the 10th day of Muharram, known as ‘Ashura, is highly recommended as the Prophet ﷺ said it expiates the sins of the past year (Sahih Muslim).

Additionally, it is advised to fast on the 9th or 11th along with the 10th to differentiate from the Jewish practice (Sahih Muslim).

Allah has prohibited oppression during these sacred months, emphasizing that sins committed during this time are more severe and thus, their punishment is greater. Allah says in the Qur’an:

فَلَا تَظۡلِمُواْ فِيہِنَّ أَنفُسَڪُمۡ‌ۚ“
So wrong not yourselves therein” (Surah Tawbah)

Interpreter of the Qur’an, Qataada, said:

الظلم في الأشهر الحرم أعظم خطيئة ووزرًا من الظلم فيما سواها، وإن كان الظلم على كل حال عظيمًا، ولكن الله يعظم من أمره ما يشاء
“Injustice during the Sacred Months is worse and graver than injustice in other months. Verily, injustice is always wrong, but Allah makes things graver than others as He will.” (Ibn Kathir)

If we look at the pages of history, we will notice that two of the biggest Pharaohs of history were defeated and killed in this blessed month. In this month Allah granted victory to Prophet Musa and his oppressed nation over Pharaoh and his armies. Pharaoh was drowned in water. Likewise, the story of the Elephant and the defeat of Abraha took place during this month and Abraha was killed in this event (Sealed Nectar).

Just like the Pharaoh of the time of Prophet Musa had imprisoned the nation of Bani Israeel, the Pharaohs of our times have imprisoned every muwahhid Muslim man, woman and child they can get thier hands on.

These Pharaohs have imprisoned exemplary Muslim men and women for the last 5 years in the prisons and camps of Syria and likewise in many other countries. Just like the Abraha of the time of Abdul Muttalib wanted to destroy the house of Allah, the Abrahas of our age want to destroy every single muj@hid man, woman and child.

This is a reminder for all the Muslims to supplicate to Allah for the defeat of the Pharaohs of our times in this blessed and sacred month. We have to ask Allah for this sincerely. It has happened before, it can happen again.

"إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌۭ"

"This is certainly easy for Allah." (Surah Al-Hadid: 22)

Friday Reminder

1.) Send Many Salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ

It is a greatly rewarded act, but it is even more rewarded on the day of Friday. Rasullallah ﷺ said,

“Among the best of your days is Friday, so frequently send salah upon me therein.”

2.) Recite Surah al Kahf

The Prophet ﷺ said, "‘Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on the day of Friday, light is enlightened for him between the two Fridays."

3.) Dua in the Last Hour

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Jumu‘ah is comprised of 12 portions of time. There is one in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something will have it granted to him. Seek it in the last period after Asr.” (Abū Dāwūd)

Please remember our imprisoned brothers and sisters in the prisons around the world as they uphold this Deen with their blood.

Series Nurturing Imaan - Introduction

This series is for all mothers in shaa Allah but especially for those sisters that don't have a supportsystem or many family members around. Sisters who are estranged in their surroundings and are obligated to play the role of a mother and father at the same time.

My dear sisters who have embarked on this path, who have, literally, gone through war, faced imprisonment, survived famine, lost loved ones and are still struggling with her daily needs..know that I love you for the sake of Allah. I know that you feel physically exhausted, emotionally drained and many times, lonely. Nothing, absolutely nothing you have sacrificed will ever go to waste bithnillah. And I ask Allah to instill sabr in your heart and to keep you firm. Ameen ya Hayy ya Qayyum.

Many of you might have children who are dependent on you. Who need your support and assistance for their well-being, and more importantly, for their Religion. Know that your children are the most important investment in your life. Do you wish to give victory to the Deen of Allah? Invest in your children. Do you wish to leave sadaqah jaariyah in this world? Invest in your children. Do you wish to be the reason for a flourishing offspring for generations to come in shaa Allah? INVEST IN YOUR CHILDREN. Ya akhawaat I can't stress this enough. It's not about teaching them texts or having them memorize certain things. It's about nurturing their imaan and engraving the love of Allah and His messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم in their hearts.

In this series I will share some tips and advice that will, in shaa Allah be beneficial to all of us and a source of support for all nurturing mothers bitnillah❤️
