Was never about pollution. It was always about restricting travel and deliberately making it more costly.
They are removing gas stations, so you have to drive further and use more fuel to get to the stations. Small stations have massively inflated costs. The surcharge on Super (E5) unleaded can be up to 20p per liter and normal unleaded (E10), which gives you nearly 150 miles less on a full tank and damages older engines. All by design.
Oh, and they are going to try charging by the mile…
