༄༅།།དཔལ་གཏེར་སྒར་ངེས་དོན་ལུང་རིགས་འོད་གསལ་དར་རྒྱས་གིང་གི་གོ་ལོད་དགུ་གཏོར་ཆེན་མོའ་ིསྐབས་ཀི་འདོན་ཆ་བཞུགས་སོ།།

The cycle of Dorje Drolo — the wrathful eighth manifestation of Guru Rinpoche was revealed by the first Mingyur Rinpoche. The practice is a terma given by Padmasambhava and concealed by Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal. This cycle of teachings belongs to Dzogchen and is particularly potent for our times.

Dorje Drolo practice is a profound practice that contains “all five roots in one”:

The Root of Blessing – Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava, The Root of Accomplishment – Dorje Drolo, The Root of Enlightened Activity – Dakini Mandarava, The Root of Protection – Mahakala, and The Root of Prosperity – Zambala.

The Dorje Trolo practice consists of eight sadhana: 1) Dorje Drakpo Tsal, which has two parts, Secret Wisdom (Ye sang) and The concealed secret (Be sang), 2) Samantabhadra, 3) The Five Buddha Families, 4) Dorje Trolo, 5) Mandarava, 6) Trakshe, the Protector, 7) Yellow Jambhala, and 8) the Long-Life Practice. These sadhana are included in Volume 1, along with English translation.

The sadhana are supplemented by additional practices.On the first day, prior to commencing the sadhana, there is the Effigy Cleansing ritual. From the second day onwards, in the afternoon, the Dokpa is recited. On the penultimate day, the Dokpa is replaced by the Gutor ritual. On the final day, the Dokpa is replaced by the Homa ritual. These additional practices are in a separate volume, Volume 2.

Into the Stream: A Study Guide on the First Stage of Awakening
