*Sometimes, the easiest way to handle any Mercury Retrograde is to remember the saying ‘what will be will be’ and trust that Mercury is just divine intervention and each event that either crumbles or regenerates occurs for our highest good and is all part of a bigger plan.

From casual friendships to intimate relationships, we are about to witness how weak or strong our connections truly are. One thing Mercury does not appreciate is anything or anyone fickle, so just place trust that when this planet shows up to interfere and play tricks, it’s for an extremely good reason.
If anything has fallen apart, it may not be for long, as the next New Moon is in Libra, falling on September 25, and as New Moons are all about new beginnings, we may find that this is Mercury and Libra’s way of offering up a second chance. If this is something we desire, it’s vital we take time out to fully process why things went wrong, and how we can do things differently in the future, and to make necessary changes to avoid further friction -  in particular surrounding how we communicate. Mercury will be in Virgo at the time of the New Moon, and this brings in totally new energies. By this stage we may be expecting perfection in connections, as Virgo has extremely high standards, so if we are planning to try again with any type of relationship, it’s worth remembering that it may be more challenging than the first time around if we aren’t able to resist the urge to criticise.

Many people wish they could hibernate throughout Mercury retrograde or find an escape route from the craziness going on as there is almost guaranteed to be some turbulence and commotion.

The reality is though, as long as we are grounded, in the moment and aware that at any time something could catch us off guard, we will find this period a huge learning curve that will deliver exactly the disturbance and insight we need to reshuffle our lives and readjust direction so we are fully prepared for whatever the future has in store.*✨ Although it never seems to feel like it at the time, Mercury’s retrograde is always a blessing in disguise, and only intervenes when we have not been keeping aspects of our lives in order, and serves as a reminder that if we aren’t willing to shape up, Mercury will ship out ✨ Alex Myles ??✨

Mercury, the planet famous for mischief and trickery, particularly surrounding communication, has stationed retrograde in Libra ♎*, and it could bring chaos and confusion to our closest relationships.

The reason we are so affected by Mercury is because it has a high density, leading astrologers to believe it is mostly made out of iron. It is similar to a huge magnet orbiting the sun and the closer it gets to Earth, the more of a magnetic “push and pull” effect it has.

During Mercury retrograde, the planet is in its closest position to Earth, which is why there are frequent emotional outbursts and many people feel overwhelmed, out of balance and unstable at times.

Mercury is notorious for being a troublemaker while in retrograde, so at this time we can expect the most unexpected and random occurrences to take place. Conversations, interactions, and plans that would normally be straightforward will be full of confusion and  complications, and anything could break down, malfunction, or seem to explode at any moment.
Mercury likes to play around with our thought processes and communication styles, so don’t be surprised if you almost don’t recognise what you, or other people, are thinking, saying or doing over the next few weeks.

It will feel almost as though our phones, emails, or voices take on a life of their own during Mercury Retrograde, as our communication and how we get our messages across leaves a lot to be desired! We may find we are unable to string sentences together, explain how we are feeling, or even why we said or did certain things - and the craziest thing about Mercury is we often don’t even know ourselves, let alone, trying to help other people understand!

If there’s one thing Mercury excels at, it’s showing who is and who isn’t meant to be in our lives. Do not be at all surprised if one moment a connection seems to be flowing freely, then all of a sudden there’s unmovable obstacles blocking the way. It could also mean the opposite, and that Mercury shows us that regardless of the tests and trials he throws our way, our relationships remains solid, supportive and unshakeable.

One of the main areas we may find receives the greatest disruption is where we have created illusions or where we are holding unrealistic expectations with regard to love and romance. We may notice that aspects of our lives where we have desperately tried to balance the scales, will suddenly tip over, and all the hard work we have poured in to maintain harmony, come undone.

If we have been ‘one foot in and one foot out’ of any type of connection, which can include friendships or even work dynamics, we may find that Mercury pushes or pulls us, either to make some type of commitment or completely bow out.

If the foundations are solid, we will likely find it easy to weather whatever storms Mercury creates, however, if there have been cracks brewing, or if we, or the other person, has serious doubts or is not being authentic, it’s highly likely Mercury will trouble-make and create friction and drama to break the bond.

While Mercury appears to travel backward, we may also find we feel the urge to travel backward in our personal lives. We will be revisiting the past and remembering certain experiences where we may have experienced emotional pain or trauma, and we may even find this transfers to the dreamworld and we experience vivid and realistic dreams. This can give us the desire to reach out to certain people to reconnect or gain closure, or we could find that people from our past are unexpectedly returning in an attempt to make amends and reboot relationships. 

It can feel quite confusing and even traumatic when skeletons from the past reappear, however, it is vital to remember that the only reason Mercury unearths old energy is when there are still lessons to be learned or if there is unfinished business and we haven’t fully healed, let go and completed the cycle.*
