It’s official: IDF announces the rescue of 4 hostages from Gaza

This morning (Saturday), in a joint IDF, ISA and Israel Police (Yamam) complex special daytime operation in Nuseirat, four Israeli hostages were rescued. Noa Argamani (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27), and Shlomi Ziv (40), were kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization from the ‘Nova’ music festival on October 7th.

The hostages were rescued by the IDF, ISA and ‘Yamam’ forces from two separate locations in the heart of Nuseirat.

40+ cops — some in riot gear — had to secure my event due to the threat from anti-Israel activists (many of whom are Hamas supporters) on campus.

I literally had to go over an evacuation plan with the police and move venues just because I am Israeli speaking at UC Berkeley. They had police stationed behind the stage, above the stage and at the windows, fully equipped.

Despite the insanity from the “free Palestine” crowd, I’m extremely grateful to the UC Berkeley administration, CAMERA on Campus, and Tikvah students at Berkeley for ensuring my event was a success and for not cowering to the threats and bullying of the anti-Israel extremists.

I also am grateful to see that many of the UC administration, including the Vice Chancellor, attended my event, as well as members of the Berkeley City Council.

Free speech is a precious value and we must not allow enemies of genuine dialogue to shut down discussions

The price of this war, of Israel’s ground operation, is extremely high and it is not a price we had to pay. if Israel wanted to, they could commit genocide and fire indiscriminately, flattening Gaza. But we don’t. We don’t do this and instead we risk the precious lives of our soldiers to avoid civilian casualties and to be more precise.
