It's not the transmission! It's likely the axle, maybe just the axle bearing!!!

Holy crap I made it to Calgary!! Ugh that was awful lol. I'm so fuggin thankful I had a RageCast to listen to 😆😆

On Friday, I picked my kid up from school and my car died. I freaked out and started to feel a raging pity party coming on : "omfg why me!?! .. i HAVE to be in Calgary ON MONDAY!" . Then i heard myself in Jeremy's whiny voice and i snapped myself out of it. I called CowboyDave and he thought it was the starter. I called a tow truck driver, who knew people (yes, you know the type, so the Dags I told in a chat were all helping me not get fleeced). I knew I'd have to bite the bullet. I drive the crap out of it. I'm a hockey mom lol
Anyway.. I spent $1000 on the starter, brakes, rotors, a gasket, and oil change on Saturday. This would not have been possible without you guys! \*🖤*🤍🖤
It felt and sounded good. I was confident this afternoon when I left.
About 2 hrs in to my trip, I kinda felt like the timing was off or something. I stopped in Kindersley to get fuel.
Getting up to speed after, it felt gutless and louder than usual. This increased over the next hour until I had just passed Oyen, which is halfway. I called @Cowboy_Dave and asked his advice. He deduced it was likely transmission, perhaps the tranny fluid was accidentally drained. He also suggested I call hight52 , who helped to show me where the dip stick would be, and helped calm me down and make a decision to drive back to the gas station at Oyen and see if someone there could take a look. I bought the fluid, and old Jim came out to help me. The fluids were all good.. soooo not good. Lol.
I decided it's do or die. I've waited 6 months for this surgery,, and I have to be at my pre-op appointment tomorrow.
I asked for my highway angels to look out for me.
It felt ok-ish at 100km/h if I kept er steady. I'm pretty sure I did the entire rest of the way in 2nd gear. The inevitable Thunderstorm through the badlands drowned out the sound of the engine 😜
I called JennMac and she sprung into action as well, calling Man-On-The-Mountain and Kimberella who happen to know people who can look at it for me tomorrow, and said "of course we will come and get you if you're stranded somewhere!"
I fricken Love this community.
