⚡️ On 24 March, Russian airspace control systems detected a group aerial target over the waters of the Barents Sea approaching the state border of the Russian Federation.

A MiG-31 fighter jet of the air defence duty force conducted a flight to identify the aerial target and prevent a violation of the state border of the Russian Federation.

The crew of the Russian fighter jet identified the target as a pair of U.S. Air Force’s B-1B strategic bombers.

As the Russian fighter approached, the U.S. strategic bombers corrected their flight course with a distance and subsequent turn away from the state border of the Russian Federation.

The Russian aircraft returned safely to its home airfield and there was no violation of the state border of the Russian Federation.

The flight of the Russian fighter aircraft was carried out in strict compliance with international rules on the use of airspace over neutral waters, with observance of safety measures.
