⏩The delay in the resolution of cases (lawsuits) by judicial courts at all levels intended to deliver justice to the party seeking redress is known as the pendency of court proceedings in India.*➡️Indian courts operate in a three-tiered hierarchy: district courts, state or high courts, and the federal or supreme court.➡️Criminal and civil court matters are divided into two categories.▫️A total of 50 million cases—or 5 crores—were still waiting as of 2022, including more than 169,000 cases that had been pending in district and high courts for more than 30 years.?As of December 2022, 4.3 crore out of 5 crore cases—or more than 85% of all cases—were still pending in district courts.➡️India has the largest number of pending court cases in the world.➡️The majority of judges and government representatives agree that the largest issue facing the Indian judiciary is the backlog of cases. ➡️*According to a 2018 Niti Aayog strategy paper, it would take more than 324 years to clear the backlog of cases in our courts at the time that rate of case disposition was in place.➡️There were 29 million open cases at that time in 2018.➡️Justice for both the victim and the accused is delayed as a result of the length of time cases spend in court.➡️**After serving 28 years in prison, a man was acquitted of murder in April 2022 by a court in the state of Bihar due to a lack of evidence. He was arrested at age 28, was freed at 58.

*▶️Governments in the southern states have been investing significantly more in health care than those in other regions of the nation for many years.?The outliers are the hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, although all five southern states are among the top 10 in terms of government health spending per resident.⚫️The state with the most doctors per 10,000 residents is Andhra Pradesh (20).?The next states are Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.?All of these investments have made medical care available to everyone.?The paradox is that while states like Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh spend significantly less per person on healthcare, their hospitalisation expenditures are among the highest, at Rs 23,400 and Rs 26,000, respectively.?*Clearly, the issue of access needs to be fixed.
