Me: Sure, here you go.

Officer: Also, your passport and I-20, please!
Me: (I handed them over.)

Officer: What is the purpose of your trip?
Me: I'm going to the USA to study at the University of Arizona. My major focuses on journalism, which matches with my academic and career goals.

Officer: Have you been to the US before?
Me: No, this is my first time.

Officer: Do you have relatives in the USA?
Me: Yes, I do* (answered fully)

Officer: Is your scholarship for a year?
Me: No, I've received a merit scholarship of $23,000 per year, and it's for four years.

Officer: Your visa has been issued. You can take it in 2-3 business days. Good luck with your studies, and have a good trip!
Me: Thanks! Have a lovely day!

ps: I think the visa interview was very easy for me. I should also mention that there were pauses between each question because the officer didn’t pay much attention to my answers, as she was busy entering information into the computer. However, she was very polite. When I was talking about my relatives, I stumbled over my words, but I said, “I’m sorry,” and she smiled and replied, “It’s ok.😊”
