⚡️⚡️Is the image above “good news”. It would seem as though this is real, however after closely monitoring immigration law changes and practices in Russia over many years I would tell you to take this information with a massive grain of salt.

Why?

American bureaucracy is generally done from the standpoint of taking people on their word. You sign something like “to the best of my knowledge this information is true” and hand it off. In Russia you are assumed to be lying until you can prove you are telling the truth.

So the question is, how does one prove they are being persecuted for their beliefs? If this persecution involves a large paper trail that when translated by a professional bureau in Russia reveals this to be the case beyond a reasonable doubt, then you are golden. However, the other 98% of the time, repression tends to be less clear cut and in your face. If you can’t prove it in a court of law, then it didn’t happen.

Let’s take an abstract example. Despite the fact that every game is filmed and the rosters are published publically I could never prove to the Russian government that I play American Football as there is no written documentation saying so. There is no license to “ball” nor is there any paperwork associated with my participation, therefore, I don’t play at all by government logic, which is the only logic that counts regarding this issue.

This concept is a good one, but trying to actually get some sort of asylum for political repression set up is a legal nightmare than no average person could hope to achieve, especially without a paper trail.
