Good UX over Good UI

I recently noticed how fruits in my apt were usually getting rotten.

Looking at the apt from a product standpoint I realized it’s because of bad UX

The fruit vase was located in the far corner of the room cuz it looked much better there.

But no one naturally went to that side of the apartment and hence didn’t touch the fruits.

So it was good UI over good UX.

So I moved the fruit vase to the center of the living room by the couch where all of us see it every day.

So we started actually eating the fruits and without forgetting about them.

Even though I sacrificed the UI cuz it didn’t fit as much as it did in its previous spot.

Now of course ideally you want to have both good UI and UX in a product.

But if you have to choose you gotta choose better UX every time.

Or your fruits (features) will not be noticed by your users and will get rotten.
