You were marked out in time just for me. In the beginning, I was unaware of all that you would mean.

With much sacrifice you brought me into this world. And as you looked upon me you knew it was worth the reward.

Later on I thought I knew it all.
Yet you were still there with words of wisdom to help break my fall.

I often did the opposite of what you said. It would have been much better if I had listened instead.

But that is how life goes and mothers truly understand. They let us learn, make mistakes, so that we can become men.

It would seem now that your job is done. But a mothers work never ends, it just changes slightly and carries on to what's to come.

And so the day has come that I honor all that you are. Your love, guidance, and lessons are still alive today within me, never too far.
