ALLĀH'S INSTRUCTION TO PARENTS

ALLĀH says,

ALLĀH instructs you concerning your children...

That is, your children - O parents - are entrusted to you and ALLĀH has instructed you to look after them, take care of their affairs both spiritual and worldly, teach them, discipline them, restrain them from committing evil, and enjoin them to obey ALLĀH and to fear HIM at all times, as HE says elsewhere:

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِیكُمۡ نَارࣰا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ
0 you who believe, guard yourselves and your families against a fire whose fuel is men and stones...
{At-Taḥrīm : 6}

So children are entrusted to the care of their parents, who either fulfil the obligations of this trust, in which case they will have a great reward, or they neglect it, in which case they deserve warning and punishment. This indicates that ALLĀH is more merciful to HIS slaves than parents, as HE instructed parents - even though they are compassionate towards their children - to take care of them.

BENEFICIAL POINTS FROM SŪRAH AL-ANBIYĀ, VERSE 105-110.

*1⃣. Own your portion of land in Jannah.*
The best land in the best location in this world is acquired through wealth and status, but the land of Paradise, the abode of eternal bliss, is attained only through belief and righteous deeds.

2⃣. The Qur'an is sufficient for you.
The Qur'an provides ample guidance for those who believe in it and act upon it, enabling them to achieve happiness in this world and the Hereafter.

*3⃣. If not for the Prophet (ﷺ)...*
... you might have been punished for your sins, led astray, or erased from the earth. Show gratitude for this mercy by prioritizing his Sunnah above all else.

4⃣. Know Tawhīd, know success. No Tawhīd, no success.
Learn it and implement it in all your affairs.

5⃣. Don't be deceived!
The Prophet (ﷺ) does not know the unseen, let alone those of lesser rank and virtue. No one knows the unseen except ALLĀH.

**BENEFICIAL POINTS FROM SŪRAH AN-NŪR, VERSE 54-55

1⃣. Imagine being in the presence of the Messenger ﷺ.**
Would you continue doing most of what you're doing today in the name of religion if you were in his midst? If not, refrain from such acts.

2⃣. Are you guided or misguided?
Guidance is determined by obedience to the Prophet ﷺ, while misguidance is determined by disobedience to him.

3⃣. Study the seerah of the righteous predecessors.
They conquered the world, attained the pleasure of ALLĀH, and some were even assured Jannah while alive. The same principles that made them successful are your path to success in both worlds.

4⃣. Conditions for attaining ALLĀH'S promise.
An individual will inevitably be granted what ALLĀH has promised if they believe, do righteous deeds, practice tawheed, and avoid shirk.

5⃣. Learn tawheed and shirk!
Tawheed is the greatest obligation, while shirk is the greatest prohibition. How can one afford to be ignorant of what they constitute?

SIGNS OF WEAKNESS OF FAITH AND UNCERTAINTY

It is reported on the authority of Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri (may ALLĀH be pleased with him), in a marfoo' form that he said: "It is from a lack of certainty (of faith) that a person pleases people and by so doing, invokes ALLAH'S Anger, and that he praises them for the livelihood which ALLĀH has given him and that he blames them for the things not bestowed by ALLĀH. Not even the avarice of the greediest of people can bring ALLAH's Blessings, nor can the aversion of the one who hates it prevent it." {Shu'ab al-Īmān, 1/221}

Abu Sa'eed (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) informs us in this narration, which is attributable to the Prophet (ﷺ), that it is weakness of faith and uncertainty which causes a person to gratify people by his speech and actions at the expense of his religion, increasing their pleasure with him at the same time as they decrease ALLAH'S Pleasure with them and thanking them for the blessings which ALLĀH has given them and holding them to blame for those blessings which ALLĀH does not ordain for him, forgetting that the One Who grants or withholds is ALLĀH. Then Abu Sa'eed (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) mentions that all bounty comes from ALLAH'S Hand - HE grants to whom HE wills and HE withholds from whom HE wills, and that none can attract such bounty, even though he may be the most avaricious of people, nor can he withhold it from any, even though he may violently oppose it.

BENEFITS DERIVED FROM THIS NARRATION

1⃣. That faith may increase and decrease, strengthen and weaken.

2⃣. That righteous deeds are a part of faith.

3⃣. Confirmation of ALLAH'S Divine Attribute of Anger.

4⃣. The forbiddance of thanking people, if it is believed that the blessing came from them independently, without ALLAH'S having ordained it.

5⃣. The forbiddance of blaming people for what ALLĀH has not ordained for us.

6⃣. That good and evil are ordained by ALLĀH.

NOTE: There is no contradiction between this narration and the Hadith which states: "Whoever does not thank people does not thank ALLĀH," because here what is intended is thanking people for doing something which was in their power and which they have in fact; done, such as giving financial aid; this is quite unlike thanking a person for making it rain or thanking him for making the sun shine. Also, it is forbidden to thank a person for something believing that he acted independently, without ALLĀH having ordained it.

*5️⃣*0️⃣ SAYINGS AND ACTIONS WITH GREAT REWARDS.

4️⃣. Remembrance of ALLĀH upon entering the marketplace.**

On the authority of Umar bin al-Khattab (may ALLĀH be pleased with him), from the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ), that he said: **"Whoever entered the marketplace and then said:

None has the right to be worshipped except ALLĀH, alone, without any partner. HIS is the kingdom and HIS is the praise. HE gives life and HE causes death. HE is the Ever-Living and HE does not die. In HIS Hand is all good, and HE is Able to do all things.

then, ALLĀH will record for him one million (1,000,000) good deeds, and erase from his record one million (1,000,000) bad deeds, and raise him up one million (1,000,000) degrees (ie., in Paradise)."**

{Al-Tirmidhi #3429 and Ibn Majah #2235, and Shaykh Al-Albani classed it as ḥasan in Silsilat al-Aḥadith as-Saḥiḥah #3139}

It was also reported with the additional words: "…and ˹ALLĀH˺ will build for him a house in Paradise." {At-Tirmidhi #3429}

Shaykh ‘Abdur-Razzaq al-Badr (may ALLĀH preserve him upon goodness) said: "The wisdom behind the achievement of this tremendous reward is due to the distinction earned by someone who remembers ALLĀH and busies himself with affairs concerning the Hereafter – in exaltation of ALLĀH – while being surrounded by the people of the marketplace who are totally occupied with trading and making money, making false oaths and telling lies in order to sell their goods, totally unmindful of the remembrance of their Lord. There is no doubt that the one who remembers ALLĀH in this situation is deserving of a great reward from his Lord."

*5️⃣*0️⃣ SAYINGS AND ACTIONS WITH GREAT REWARDS

1️⃣. Reward of those who call to the prayers (Mu'adhineen)**

"...No jinn, human or anything else hears the voice of the muezzin as far as it reaches, but he (or it) will testify for him on the Day of Resurrection."
{Al-Bukhārī #584}

"The callers to prayer will have the longest necks on the Day of Resurrection." {Muslim #387}

Regarding "have the longest necks on the Day of Resurrection"

An-Nawawi said: "...it may refer to the abundance of what they will see of reward."

Ibn al-A’raabi said: "...it means the people who have the most good deeds to their credit."
{Sharh Muslim, 4/91, 92}

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If the people knew what there is in the call to prayer and the first row, and they had no other way but drawing lots, then they would draw lots."
{al-Bukhaari #590; Muslim #437}

These ahadith indicate the great virtue of calling to prayer and the rewards that awaits the muezzin.

ALLĀH'S KINDNESS AND GRACIOUSNESS TO HIS SLAVES

ALLĀH says,

ALLĀH is kind towards HIS slaves;

Here ALLĀH tells us of HIS kindness to HIS slaves, so that they may know HIM, love HIM, and seek HIS kindness and generosity. Another shade of meaning of the word lateef (translated here as kind) indicates that HE knows what is in their hearts and minds, which leads HIS slaves - especially the believers - to that which is good for them in a manner that they do not know or anticipate.

One aspect of HIS kindness to HIS believing slave is that HE guides him to that which is good in ways that never cross his mind, by means of what HE makes available to him of causes that lead him to that, such as creating in him the love of truth and submission to it, and HIS inspiring HIS noble angels to help the believers to be steadfast, and urge them to do good, and make truth fair-seeming in their hearts in order to motivate them to follow it.

Another aspect of HIS kindness is that HE enjoins the believers to do communal acts of worship which strengthen their resolve and motivate them, and lead them to compete in doing good and seeking it and to follow one another’s example.

A third aspect of HIS kindness is that HE has made available to HIS slave every means that may form a barrier between him and sin, to the extent that if ALLĀH knows that worldly gain, wealth, leadership and other things for which people compete in this world could cause HIS slave to turn away from obedience to HIM or make him negligent or lead him into sin, HE diverts it from him and restricts his provision.

Hence HE says here:

یَرۡزُقُ مَن یَشَاۤءُ
"HE grants provision to whomever HE wills"
according to what is dictated by HIS wisdom and subtle knowledge.

ALLĀH IS SUFFICIENT FOR HIS SERVANT

ALLĀH says:

Is ALLĀH not Sufficient for HIS servant?

Some of them read it "HIS servants."

It means that ALLĀH is Sufficient for the one who worships HIM and relies upon HIM.

{Tafsir Ibn Kathir}

Abu al-Darda’ (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: "If anyone says seven times morning and evening;

(ALLĀH is Sufficient for me, none has the right to be worshipped except HIM, upon HIM I rely and HE is Lord of the exalted throne.)

ALLĀH will be sufficient for him against anything which grieves him."

{Sunan Abī Dāwūd #5081 and Al Adhkar, Hadith 236}

Ibn `Abbas (may ALLĀH be pleased with them) said: "'ALLĀH is Sufficient for us and HE Is the Best Disposer of affairs,' was said by Abraham (peace be upon him) when he was thrown into the fire; and it was said by Muhammad (ﷺ) when they (i.e. hypocrites) said, "A great army is gathering against you, therefore, fear them," but it only increased their faith and they said: 'ALLĀH is Sufficient for us, and HE is the Best Disposer ˹of affairs, for us˺.'" (Aal-Imrān: 173)

NATURE OF TIME

Know that time is a variable and the conditions of life are frequently changing with no condition ever remaining stable. ALLĀH said in the verse,

“And these days ˹of varying conditions˺ WE alternate among the people”
{Aal-Imrān: Verse 140}

This is why mankind sometimes experiences poverty, wealth, glory, humiliation, joy and sorrow. One day, you find the supporters of a man rejoicing for his happiness and the next day you find his enemies gloating for his calamity.

However, the person enraptured of fortunate is he who adheres to one core principle in all situations; righteousness and piety. Because if he is content it will adorn him, if he is poor it will open for him the gates of forbearance (sabr). If he is safe from hardships it will make the grace of ALLĀH be complete on him. If he is tested it will help him to overcome the hardships. He will neither be affected by the ease or hardships of time, nor be changed by the changes of his life condition because all life conditions never last and always change.

Fearing ALLĀH (taqwa) is the basis of safety, and is a sleepless guard that pulls you up whenever you fall or slip, helping you to never violate the laws of religion.

On the other hand, the condemned one is he who is deceived by a joy acquired sinfully. As this joy will leave him alone suffering a great loss.

It is for these reasons, you should bind to piety in all situations because with it you will be able to see ease in times of hardship and health in times of sickness.

These are the benefits of piety that you will reap in this life and the reward is known, which you shall receive in the Hereafter.
