In your quest for band 7.0+ in IELTS, not only should you master Solutions books, but you should also look for language beyond textbooks and immerse yourself into modern and natural English for a year or two. This level of language awareness can be achieved by watching a wide range of sitcoms and podcasts, along with reading a ton of level books and magazines. Only after doing all of these things will you start seeing a dramatic change in your command of the language. I will even go as far as to say this tip guarantees, on condition everything is well-executed with quality, mock tests will feel like a walk in the park and you will start scoring 30+/40 without even breaking a sweat.

'Solutions' itself will not suffice. So, if you're aiming for a 7.0 or higher, spend a minimum of 8 hours (L & R - 4 hours) a day on exploring the practical and natural English out there. It's after a few weeks (not days) that you will start seeing some tangible progress, so stay patient and perseverant all throughout.
