**Is There Anyone That Wants a …

Is There Anyone That Wants a 1,000 Rewards & 1,000 Sins Erased

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said,

“Is one of you incapable of attaining a thousand good deeds?

So a questioner among those seated with him asked him: “How can one of us earn a thousand good deeds?”

He ﷺ said: “[When] one of you recites a hundred Tasbīḥāt a thousand good deeds are written for him, and a thousand evil deeds are wiped away from him.”

Sunan Tirmidhī [no. 3463] and he graded it Hasan Sahīh.

Say a hundred times:

سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ

Subhānallāh
Glory be to Allāh

Action Plan:

- Read now while at home on the sofa, bed, work, walking or wherever you are.

- Make time everyday for the remembrance of Allāh.

Share to everyone you know and whoever reads it, you hope thousands of rewards will be recorded for you and thousands of your sins will be erased for you.

Sahābah Series: Abū ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrāh - The Trustworthy Guardian of the Ummah
A Respected Companion: Abū ‘Ubaydah [May Allāh be pleased with him] is one of the ten companions promised Paradise. Known for his exceptional character, humility, and leadership, Abū ‘Ubaydah was a close and trusted companion of the Prophet ﷺ, embodying the virtues of faith, courage, and integrity.

Early Conversion to Islām: Abū ‘Ubaydah was among the earliest converts to Islam. He accepted Islām through the Da'wah of Abū Bakr al-Siddīq [May Allāh be pleased with him].

A Role Model of Humility and Integrity: Throughout his life, Abū ‘Ubaydah was known for his humility and unwavering integrity. The Prophet ﷺ once described him as “The trustworthy one of this Ummah”.

Courage in Battle: Abū ‘Ubaydah played a significant role in several key battles alongside the Prophet ﷺ. His bravery was particularly evident in the Battle of Badr, where he fought valiantly to protect the Muslim army. Despite the personal challenge of facing his own father, who was fighting on the side of the Quraysh, Abū ‘Ubaydah remained steadfast in his duty to defend Islām, ultimately slaying his father in battle.

Leadership in the Battle of Uhud: During the Battle of Uhud, Abū ‘Ubaydah’s courage and leadership were once again on full display. When the Prophet ﷺ was injured, Abū ‘Ubaydah rushed to his side, removing two metal links from the Prophet’s ﷺ cheek with his own teeth, losing two of his teeth in the process. This selfless act exemplified his deep love for the Prophet ﷺ and his willingness to endure personal pain to ensure the safety of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.

The Conquest of Syria: Abū ‘Ubaydah was also a key military leader during the Islamic conquests under the caliphate of Abū Bakr and ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb. He was appointed as the commander of the Muslim armies in Syria and led them to several significant victories. His leadership was characterized by both strategic brilliance and compassionate governance, earning him the respect of both his soldiers and the people of the conquered lands.

A Legacy of Trustworthiness and Faith: Abū ‘Ubaydah's life serves as a timeless example of trustworthiness, leadership, and devotion to Allāh.

Action Plan:

- Emulate the trustworthiness and integrity of Abū ‘Ubaydah in all aspects of life, striving to be a person whom others can rely on.
- Prioritize your commitment to Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ over all other ties, even when faced with personal challenges.
- Lead with humility and compassion, always seeking to serve others selflessly and justly.

Would They Even Recognise Us Today?
Mu’awiyah Bin Murrah said: “I lived during the time of seventy of the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ and had they lived among you today, they would not recognize any of your acts except the Adhān [the call to Prayer]!” See Hilyat al-Awliyaa [2/299]

We must return to the way the companions followed the Prophet ﷺ : Imām Ibn al-Qayyim mentions that those who follow the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ : “Carry out [the Prophet’s message] by [spreading] knowledge, [performing good] actions, guiding and advising people, being patient, and striving [for His sake]. These are the truly faithful ones [Siddīqūn] - they are the best of the Prophet’s followers and their leader and Imām is Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq [may Allāh be pleased with him].” Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya on Knowledge [p. 73] - Tallal Zeni.

Actions plan:- We must return to the way of the Qur'ān & Sunnah together as a Ummah.
- Increase in our acts of worship and refrain from anything that displeases Allāh.
- Study and follow the way of the Sahābah in our speech, actions and sacrifice for the sake of Allāh.
- Teach the next generation about these great men and woman so our role models are made clear.
- Each companion represents different qualities that show not everyone is the same, so find your unique skill & passion and use it for supporting the Ummah.

The Day of ʿArafah (The Ultimate Day of Mercy)

Virtue of The 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah & ShahādahAmong the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, which Allāh has preferred over all the other days of the year.

Ibn 'Abbās reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allāh than these ten days.” The people asked, ‘Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh?’

He ﷺ said, “Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing [was killed].” Ṣaḥīḥ Bukhārī (no. 969).

**Benefits from the narration:

Virtue of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah:**- The great virtue of worship in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.

- The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are loved by Allāh.

Virtue of performing righteous deeds:- It is proven that Salāh, reciting Qur’ān, giving charity and general righteous deeds are more rewarding in these days then doing them in the daytime of any other month.

Virtue of Jihād:- Jihād was asked by the companions because they knew Jihād has a great status in Islām and the great virtue it carries as mentioned in the narration of Abū Dhār when he narrated, I asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ ‘Which action is the most virtuous?’ He replied, “Faith in Allāh and Jihād in His Cause.” Ṣaḥīḥ Bukhārī (no. 2518).

- The companions asked “Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh?” which shows the understanding of the companions that Jihād was one of the most virtuous deeds in Islām.

Virtue of Shahādah in the way of Allāh:- The virtue of Shahādah – being killed in the path of Allāh – is clear from the narration , “except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing.” – this indicates that striving in the way of Allāh with wealth and ones life and being accepted as a Shahīd by Allāh is more rewarding then righteous deeds done in these days.

- The Shahīd has many blessings, from them is all his sins are forgiven and is only accountable for debt. Abdullāh ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “The martyr is forgiven for every sin except debt.” Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (no. 1886).

- The virtue of Shahīd is usually not mentioned by speakers today when mentioning this narration, but those that striving in the path of Allāh today with their wealth and life and are killed in the way of Allāh is more rewarding then all the righteous deeds done in the days of Dhul Hijjah.

- The Prophet ﷺ measured the virtues of Dhul Hijjah against Jihād because the great virtue of the deed. Nothing surpasses worship in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah in virtue except Shahādah in the way of Allāh.

Action plan:- Strive hard in doing good deeds in these 10 days as much as possible. Like reciting Qur'ān, Salāh, charity and more.
- Increase in making supplications and especially for those that are striving in the path of Allāh against oppression.
- Plan the next few days and free some time every day for the remembrance of Allāh.

Taqwa & Good Character

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“The Prophet ﷺ established a relationship between the fear of Allāh and good character, because fearing Allāh improves the relation between the servant and Allāh, and good character improves the relation between a person and others. Therefore, fearing Allāh makes it possible for Allāh to love him, and good manners makes it possible for people to love that person.”

Rulings Related To Fasting The 6 Days of Shawwāl After Ramadān
Allāmah Shaykh Abdur Rahmān Ibn Nāsir Al-Barrāk
Abū Ayyūb Al-Ansāri narrated that The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Whoever fasts during the month of Ramaḍān and then follows it with six days of Shawwāl will be [rewarded] as if he had fasted the entire year."

Sahīh Muslim (no. 1164).

Q: The ruling on fasting 6 days in Shawwāl?- It is Sunnah to fast 6 days in the month of Shawwāl and is not obligatory.

**Q: Should I make up my obligatory fasts [i.e. due to menses or travelling] first before the 6 fasts of Shawwāl?

-** The obligatory fasts of Ramaḍān that are owed [missed due to a valid excuse] should be performed before the 6 fasts of Shawwāl. Making up obligatory fasts takes priority over doing actions that are recommended .

**Q: When to make the Intention for fasting?

-** The intention can be made any time in the day as long one has not eaten or drank [or had sexual relations].

**Q: Is it a condition to fast the 6 days of Shawwāl one after the other [consecutively]?

-** No, it is allowed to fast the 6 days separately throughout the month of Shawwāl and not consecutively.

Q: Is it better to fast the 6 at the beginning or ending of the month of Shawwāl?- The scholars differed on what is better, but the default in doing good deeds is to hasten to perform them [i.e. fast the 6 straight away].

**Q: Can you combine intentions with the 6 of Shawwāl and other Sunnah days to fast?

-** It is allowed to combine intentions when fasting Shawwāl. E.g. one can fast on Monday [Sunnah day to fast] and have the intention to fast 1 of the 6 of Shawwāl and hope to be rewarded for both Sunnah days.

Q: If you miss the 6 fasts of Shawwāl for a specific reason [i.e. due to travelling or being on menses] can you perform it in the following month?- If the 6 fasts of Shawwāl are missed for any valid reason by a man or woman it can be performed in the following month of Dhul Qa’dah.

May Allāh accept our fasts and make us sincere. Amīn
