“International Digital Universityda o’qing va xorijda 2 yil o’qish imkonini qo’lga kiriting.”

*** universtetida o’qing va chet el universteti diplomini qo’lga kiriting.”

This is exactly how newly established universities in Uzbekistan are marketing themselves. Why are they putting so much emphasis on sending their students abroad, giving them foreign diplomas, and finding them jobs abroad? Why can’t they just promote what they can offer students themselves without mentioning any foreign university partnerships? Why is there nothing they are emphasizing locally?

"Imagine growing up in a place where even dreaming of studying at a top college is as far fetched as traveling to Mars"

For many of us now studying at prestigious institutions, this was our reality, especially for those from third-world countries and underprivileged backgrounds.

Upon my acceptance to NYU Abu Dhabi, I was inspired to assist others in their journey to higher education. I began by helping Khurshidbek gain admission to Vassar College, followed by Iqbol to Pomona, Farruhbek to Wesleyan, and Samandar to Rochester.

This experience led to a profound realization: the need to expand my efforts globally. Leveraging my connections from NYUAD, I envisioned reaching students in the most remote corners of the world.

Today, I am excited to introduce Global Admit, an initiative aimed at democratizing access to elite educational consulting. Our mission is to make top-tier academic guidance accessible to every student, regardless of their background.

Our diverse team includes international students from NYU Abu Dhabi and the University of Chicago, each committed to transforming educational aspirations into reality.

At Global Admit, accessibility is our advantage. Join us, and let's craft your success story together. Check out our website and follow us on Telegram.

I've just realized how easily I learned English back then, mainly because I studied it in Uzbek—the language my brain operates in. Now, I'm learning Arabic as my fourth language in my third language, and it's like going through "hell." Wish me luck; tomorrow is quiz day!

- Nationalism

Is it a good thing in a neo-liberal world?

Also, I have just had an intense debate on globalization with some friends.

We have talked about the rise of populism, Javier Milei’s leadership and the perfect world.

I am forever grateful to have this opportunity to talk to people all over the world and listen to their opinions.

Media Freedom and Corruption.
I usually don't follow Team Activist on social media. My opinion about him changed after his interview with "Subyektiv." However, I don't want to discuss that now; I'd rather focus on what he said in the video. It's possible I'm taking his words out of context since it was a short video, or maybe he couldn't properly convey his message, but what he said was very wrong and harmful. This clearly shows that not everyone who has a microphone and an audience should speak about things they don't understand.

He essentially stated that he is willing to give up media freedom, freedom of speech, and let the government control everything and establish censorship, if the government could create a state completely free of corruption.

Fortunately, I've spent the whole semester studying this topic, and I'm very glad to have an informed opinion.

The idea that giving up media freedom can lead to a corruption-free state is not supported by any real evidence. According to Transparency International, countries with more press freedom generally have lower levels of corruption. On the other hand, countries where media freedom is limited often face rampant corruption that goes unchecked.

The influencer mentioned China, Singapore, and the UAE as examples where limited media freedom exists alongside low corruption. However, these countries have unique political, cultural, and historical contexts that shape their governance models. For instance, Singapore's low corruption levels come from a strong legal system and effective law enforcement, not just restricted media.

Censorship can quickly grow beyond its original goals, leading to greater abuses of power and suppression of different opinions. This is a dangerous path that Uzbekistan should avoid.

Instead of limiting freedoms, Uzbekistan should improve transparency, strengthen institutions, and ensure a free press to effectively fight corruption. This approach not only supports accountability but also fosters a more informed and active citizenry.

WoW! I have just come across to the video that has a very destructive message and can potentially/negatively shape our public understanding.

I am writing a read on it. Will share soon.
