- ‏أَعلَىٰ مَراتِبَ الحُبّ؛

"وَإِنْ أَدخلتَنِي النّارَ أَعلَمْتُ أهلهَا أنِّي أُحِبُّك"..

-The highest level of love:

*“And if You cast me into Hellfire, I will let its inhabitants know that I love you..”

It is said that Imam Zain al-Abideen (AS) never ate alongside his mother or nursemaid, fearing that he might take something they had glanced at (with the intention of choosing for themselves). He (as) could not bear the thought of even unintentionally being undutiful to them.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.{3:8}

"Prepare yourself for tribulation, for by God, it comes to us and to our followers faster than a flood in a valley. The trials start with us and then with you, and prosperity starts with us and then with you."

Imam Ali (a.s.) said:
“Once, a blind man asked permission to visit Fatimah (a.s), but she asked him to stay behind a screen. The messenger of Allah (s.a.w) asked Fatimah (a.s): “Why did you screen him though he is blind and could not see you?” She answered: “He could not see me, but I could see him.”
The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “I witness that you are a part of me.”

مَا جَفَّتِ الدُّمُوعُ إِلَّا لِقَسْوَةِ الْقُلُوبِ وَ مَا
قَسَتِ الْقُلُوبُ إِلَّا لِكَثْرَةِ الذُّنُوبِ.

Tears only dry up (fail to flow) as a result of hardness of the heart, and hearts only harden as a result of frequent sinning.

‏في كل عزاء للسيدة الزهراء (ع) تأمَّلي
‏بقول الخطيب: "ولاذت وراء الباب
‏رعايةً للستر والحجاب.”

In every commemoration for Lady al-Zahra (as), reflect deeply on the preacher’s words: “*And she sought refuge behind the door,preserving her modesty and veil.”

To my dear child, to Fatima..
I have named you Fatima in honour of our oppressed lady Fatima Al-Zahraa (as), and due to my deep attachment to her and her suffering.
So, my beloved, be as Al-Zahraa (as), would want you to be.

إلى طفلتي الغالية، إلى فاطِمة..
لقد أسميتك فاطِمة تيمّنًا بسيِّدتنا ومولاتنا المظلومة فاطِمة الزهراء عليها السلام،
ولتعلّقي الشديد بها وبمظلوميّتها،
فكوني يا حبيبتي كما تريدك الزهراء عليها السلام.

Imam Al-Sadiq (as) on his deathbed sent for his wife, Hamida and asked her to gather some of their neighbours and followers. When they gathered, he said:

“Our mercy does not reach those who belittle prayer. Prayer is the main principle in Islam. So, that who adheres to it, and does it, is a believer. But those who belittle it, have quitted the boundary of Islam.”

If a person looked well, he would find that the darkness of Imam Al-Hassan (as) might be more severe than the darkness of Imam Al-Hussein (as). He was carrying the same desire of his brother, the desire for martyrdom, but he lived in an era that required him to stop and be patient until the opportunity came, so it came while he had left the world and it reached his brother, Abu Abdullah Al Hussein (as)
What a patience and a dream! He endures all these calamities without showing pain and refraction, even though the pain of the soul is more severe than the pain of the body for those with understanding and sensitive feelings.

لو التفت الإنسان جيداً لوجد أن ظلامة الإمام الحسن (ع) قد تكون أشدّ من ظلامة الإمام الحسين (ع) من جهة؛ إذ كان يحمل نفس رغبة أخيه إلى الشهادة ، لكن عاش حقبة تطلّبت أن يكفّ ويصبر حتّى تحين الفرصة، فحانت وهو قد فارق الدنيا ووصل دور أخيه أبي عبد الله الحسين.
فيا لصبره وحلمه! إذ يتحمّل تلك المصائب كلّها دون أن يبدي تألماً وانكساراً ، مع أنّ آلام الروح أشدّ وأقسى من آلام الجسم عند ذوي الفهم والمشاعر الحسّاسة.
