How true is this about them!

Malik ibn Dinar رحمه الله said,

"It is enough evil for a man that he’s unrighteous, yet he speaks ill of the righteous people.”

There are some brothers who categorically refuse to mention the names of deviants or people of innovation when it comes to refuting them.

We are not speaking about those who, in certain situations, may find it wiser to avoid mentioning names, that is understandable. Rather, we are talking about those who reject this matter entirely, sometimes even twisting the principles of Salafiyyah to justify their stance.

To these people, we ask a simple question:

If you saw your children associating with bad friends at school, would you tell them to stay away from them and mention their names? Or would you just give vague hints, risking your child going astray simply because you want to stick to the principle of “not mentioning names”?

The answer is pretty obvious. Every rational parent would mention the names to protect their children from harm.

Now, if this is the case for just one or two children, what about an innovator or misguided person who teaches and influences thousands, if not millions?

Aren’t all these brothers and sisters just as important? Isn’t the Ummah important? Isn’t the Sunnah important?

The same concern and protection you have for your own family should extend to other Muslims as well. Whatever good you want for yourself and your loved ones, you should want the same or even more for your brothers and sisters in Islam.
