*❓ Question: In an interview with Fakt, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the Polish authorities are ready to accept the deployment of US nuclear weapons on their territory. How would you comment on this?*

? Maria Zakharova: Such provocative statements by the Polish leadership are not new. The Polish authorities have long made no secret of their ambitions to "snuggle up" to the US nuclear weapons deployed in Europe and have been actively weaving them into their deeply hostile policy towards Russia.

It is clearly not enough for Poland that it is already a member of NATO, which arbitrarily positions itself as a "nuclear alliance." Moreover, Warsaw is intensively involved in the practice of the so-called "joint nuclear missions" of the North Atlantic bloc as a state that provides direct support to such operations.

All this together leads to the fact that in our own military planning we treat Poland with special attention and in view of the threats that arise for Russia with the involvement of this country. The Polish factor was certainly also taken into account by us and our Belarusian friends in taking additional measures to strengthen the security of the Union State.

☝️ However, Warsaw seems to be maniacally seeking to attract even more attention from military planners in the Russian General Staff. It is not difficult to assume that in the event US nuclear weapons appear on Polish territory, the relevant facilities will immediately be added to the list of legitimate targets for engagement in a situation of direct military confrontation with NATO.

- It all began when Ukraine gained independence following the collapse of the Soviet Union. … In 2008, the NATO States in Bucharest declared their intention to drag the former Soviet republic into their military Alliance. For obvious reasons Russia cannot ignore this blatant violation of its security concerns – especially now, when we have been officially and openly declared as NATO’s principal threat.

- Needless to say, the government overthrow can be traced directly to Washington. … The US masterminding “color revolutions” is hardly a surprise to anyone anymore.

- … after the coup Kiev stepped foot on the path
of confrontation. It was not just a battle with everything Russian. It was essentially a civil war with the sole goal of bringing the Anti-Russia project to life.

- Kiev’s political significance is diminishing day by day. The current regime lacks sovereignty – all of its military and political decisions are taken after being approved by Western capitals.

- Ukraine is no longer a priority for “progressive democracies” with all of their resources being funneled towards the collective punishment of Palestinians.

- Oppression of ethnic minorities has become an integral part of government policy [in Ukraine].

- A cult of death and hatred that replaces traditional spiritual and moral values in our neighbors’ minds is rapidly expanding [in Ukraine].

- … it seems that instead of questioning what the country [Ukraine] will be like in 10 years it is more rational to question whether it will exist at all❓
