A number of family and friends gathered to celebrate my son, Charles’ 17th birthday and to farewell him as he prepares to move to north Queensland to continue his pilot training with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) in Mareeba.

I asked several men, who have had a significant influence in Charles’ life over the years, to speak into his life and send him off with love, support, and wisdom as he prepares to leaves home. I also opened the mic for others to contribute.

It was an evening of laughs and tears as we celebrated a young man of God about to leave home and take on the world. Fiona and I and his brothers and sisters — and many others — will miss Charles dearly but we confidently commend him into the Lord’s hands.

Love you Charles.

This is pretty cool. I took Josiah and Charles out to Jumpinpin on Wednesday so we could get amongst the tailor before the season ends. We were pulled over by QLD Fisheries for a routine check and it turns out they already know Josiah and his kayak setup and have seen him on his YouTube channel, Joe’s Gone Fishing. 😎

With the news today that there is a very real possibility that North Queenslanders may hand the BALANCE OF POWER to Katter's Australia Party (KAP) in the Queensland state election tomorrow, it seems my words yesterday were indeed prophetic, as promised.
