I've been kind of shocked over the past month at just how many people I care about have mentally imploded. Quite a few admins have gone on mental health breaks and several standard members have also been struggling.

So, I want to provide you guys with some really direct reassurance, which I suspect might be needed.

The past few years have been pretty shitty - we had COVID and all of the associated malarkey (from both governments and the disease itself). Then Russia decided to take a dump on Eastern Europe pretty much immediately following that.

It's been a lot and I'm sure all of you would really just like a boring year so to speak.

It can be really frightening and depressing when the news fills you with a sense of impending doom that you feel helpless to do anything about.

And it's okay to feel not okay. A lot of people don't feel okay. ❤️

But things will get better. People are realising almost completely en masse now - thank god, it took long enough - that COVID is not something you need to shelve your life for. And the Western forces have been excellent in helping the Ukrainian people repel Russia.

You are more resilient than you give yourself credit for; after all, think about it - you've made it through every single thing that has ever happened to you! And you're still here.

It's a new year now; and February is just around the corner. The dawn is advancing as darkness recedes in favour of more light and warmth. The hardest part has come and gone.

And even if you can't see your path through to the next week, next month or next year, all you need to do right now is put one paw in front of the other and keep going.

You'll make it. We all will as long as we just keep going.
