Shāfiʿī Marital Life :)**

It is narrated that one of the Shāfiʿī jurists said :

يُروى أن أحد الفقهاء الشافعية قال : في كل مرة أتجادل مع زوجتي ، تفسد هي علي طهارتي بجعلي ألمسها بعد الوضوء حتى أكرره مراراً وتكراراً

Every time I argue with my wife, she disrupts my state of purity by making me touch her after Wudhu, forcing me to repeat it over and over again.

Al-imām as-Shāfiʿī said :

قال الإمام الشافعي : وقول الله تبارك وتعالى : وأن احكم بينهم بما أنزل الله ولا تتبع أهواءهم واحذرهم أن يفتنوك عن بعض ما أنزل الله إليك ، يعني : وأهواءهم، يحتمل سبيلهم فأمره صلى الله عليه وسلم أن لا يحكم إلا بما أنزل الله إليه ولا يحل لمسلم أن ‌يحكم ‌إلا ‌بحكم الله المنزل على نبيه صلى الله عليه وسلم

And the saying of Allāh, Blessed and Exalted be He:

And judge between them by what Allāh has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware lest they tempt you away from some of what Allāh has revealed to you

Means : their desires, it could imply their way. So he ﷺ was commanded to judge only by what Allāh revealed to him, and it is not permissible for a Muslim to judge except by the ruling of Allah revealed to His Prophet ﷺ.

YouTube advertisements almost always contain ’awrah and music. Alhamdulillah there are many APK files one can use to by-pass this.

For this reason, I recommend foremost the LibreTube frontend. It gives you most features of YouTube + unique features, but most importantly no adds! It will ask you which "Instance" to use, and you should select the one that is closest to your country. If there are multiple ones in your country, use the one it says has the most "utilisation"(or whatever that is in your language). A nice feature of LibreTube is that you can modify the link of a video you want to send to your friends to either regular YouTube, or to Piped Video(a website version linked to the app that is also add free! Use this if you don't have android).

An alternative to LibreTube that is also Open Source and add free is GrayJay. GrayJay is not only limited to YouTube but they have other platforms like SoundCloud, and they are working on adding more. The best part about GrayJay is that you can log onto your Google account to access all your data from YouTube so you don't have to restart from 0 basically. To do so, you open the app then press on Sources -> YouTube -> Authentification -> Connection -> (then you log onto your Google account which will bring you to YouTube web)-> After this you press on your account for it to redirect you back to GrayJay with your connected account.

I also recommend Droid-ify, an app store for add-free and private apps made by programmers that respect your privacy and data, they don't make any money from you using their apps.

You can also install LibreTube through Droid-ify instead if you want. There is also Tubular there but LibreTube and GrayJay have more functions, but choose to your preferance.

Please share the links and explain to your families and friends because the point of it isn't just to lift the burden of having to wait through an add but the purpose is to avoid all forbidden content that come with using these platforms. The purpose is to make our usage of these platforms congruent to what counts as beneficial time in our religious or dunyawi lives, while limiting any munkar in them as much as we are able to for ourselves and loved ones.

**Ramadān Planning 2024

Now that Ramadān is a day away, here are some actions we should focus on in this blessed month:

1. Recite a minimum of 30mins of Qur'ān every day:**- Our aim should be to increase to at least one Juzz a day.
   - Allocate a time in the day & night for your recitation.

2. Praise and Seek forgiveness from Allāh every day:- Make time to praise and give thanks to Allāh. - Have moments alone to reflect on our actions and seek repentance.

3. Pray 2 units of prayer alone every night [after Tarawīh]:- Before bed pray two units of prayer alone with the intention of Tahajjud [Night Prayer].

4. Buy a Notebook!!! - Write down your goals for this Ramadān:- Write down what goals you want to complete in this month.
- Review your goals throughout the month to ensure you are working towards them.

5. Remember the Muslims around the world who are less fortunate then us:- Make supplications for the Muslims who do not have what we have and are struggling to find their basic needs.

6. Share Iftār with family & friends:- Strengthen the bonds of family by breaking fast together.
- Invite friends for Iftār to strengthen the bond.

7. Give charity every night:- Give from the wealth Allāh has given us in His cause to support the Ummah.
- The Prophet Mohammed ﷺ was the most generous in Ramadān.
- Set aside some money every day.

In shā Allāh, for this month of Shaʿbān 1445 AH, Ayyam al-Beed [white days] will fall on:

13th Shaʿbān – Friday 23rd February 2024
14th Shaʿbān – Saturday 24th February 2024
15th Shaʿbān – Sunday 25th February 2024

“Beed” is the plural of “Abyad” which means white. Three days of 13, 14 and 15 of lunar month are called “Al-Ayyam-ul-Beed” for the reason that their nights are bright because of the moonlight. The moon begins to diminish gradually after these days.

Jareer ibn ‘Abdullaah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and ayyam al-beed are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.”

Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said to me: “If you fast any part of the month, then fast the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.”

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه said: “My close friend [i.e., the Prophet ﷺ] advised me to do three things which I will never give up until I die: fasting three days each month, praying Duha, and sleeping after praying Witr.”

What A Salaf Said Regarding Fasting, SubḥānAllāh!!
Sufyān b. ‘Uyaynah Raḥimahullāh said: “When on the Day of Resurrection a slave is being taken into account and from amongst all of his actions are sins, and all that remains is that person’s fast, Allāh will take from him all of the sins and enter him into Jannah with his fast.”

The Wisdom Behind Fasting | Sh. Ibn al-'Uthaymeen Raḥimahullāh

Sh. Ibn al-‘Uthaymeen Raḥimahullāh said: “From the wisdom of fasting is that it is a form of training for controlling the soul and the power to stop yourself for indeed man is inclined towards evil except for the one to whom mercy is shown by Allāh, it also overwhelms a person and makes them humble, it gives them humility towards the Creator and kindness towards the creation.

From the wisdom of fasting is that the blood becomes less flowing, it becomes more thick and more constricted when a person is hungry and thirsty, this causes the flowing of Shayṭān to be less as well for indeed Shayṭān flows through the bloodstream of the son of Ādam as has been authentically narrated from the Prophet ﷺ in Bukhārī and Muslim so fasting decreases the whispers of Shayṭān and it decreases the episodes of lust and anger hence the reason fasting is called a 'shield’ against desires."

Prophet ﷺ said: "There is a gate in Jannāh called ar-Rayyān and only those who observed fast shall enter through."

Al Bassaam رحمه الله said: "Fasting increases mercy and people AWARE of the pain suffered by those less fortunate."

● [‎تيسير اللام ٣١٣/١]

Prophet ﷺ said: "Every servant of Allah who observes fast for a day in the way of Allah, Allah would remove, because of this day, his face farther from the Fire (of Hell) to the extent of seventy years' distance.

Virtue Of Fasting

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : من صام يوما في سبيل الله جعل الله بينه وبين النار خندقا كما بين السماء والأرض.

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Whoever fasts a day in the Path of Allāh, Allāh will create between him and the Hellfire a trench like (the distance of) what is between the sky and the earth.”

Reward Of Fasting

قال الشيخ ابن العثيمين رحمه الله : ومِنْ فضائِل الصوم أنَّ ثوابَه لا يَتَقَيَّدُ بِعَدَدٍ مُعيَّنٍ بل يُعطَى الصائمُ أجرَه بغير حسابٍ.

Sh. Ibn al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله: “And from the virtues of the fasting is that its reward is NOT limited to a specific amount rather the fasting person is given his reward without an account (i.e unlimited reward).”
