Early in the morning, I received a call from an audio-books company. Clearly, they got my mobile phone number from data brokers, with whom you sometimes trade your personal information unwittingly.

This company still uses telemarketing, a type of advertising which involves “ inundating” your potential clients with calls. I wonder why they can’t come to the grips with the fact that this way of promoting their sales is too outdated. Personally, for me, the red flag about companies is when they call me like that. It is ,most of the time, a sure sign they are offering a lousy service or product which doesn’t benefit you in any way. They just try to get into your pocket and rob you.

The next worst advertising campaign would be handing out leaflets, just contributing to the littering of cities.

Therefore, if we have future sales managers here, please keep your knowledge updated and adapt to the changing nature of the market. Otherwise, you might well be criticised by some English teacher,like me ?

The most ridiculous point is that , apparently, my phone number got a 50% discount.

Hooray ? - this is probably the reaction they expected from me.
