Israel shot and killed a Palestinian woman who was eight months pregnant this morning in Nour Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm.

She’s 23-year-old Sundus Jamal Shalabi, Israeli forces prevented the ambulances from reaching to ensure that both her and the baby die.

❗️According to Israel's Channel 12, the Israeli army has set up nine military sites in the occupied buffer zone with Syria and plans to stay until at least the end of 2025. The army conducts daily raids on former Syrian military sites and collects weapons from nearby villages, minimizing its patrols within Syrian villages to avoid southern Syria becoming 'similar to the West Bank.'

I saw so many genuinely horrible things today throughout Gaza. What I saw, no human being should ever see once in their lives. But that it is happening DAILY, all day, and all night in Gaza is just too much.⁣

? I don’t care what anyone says, it is a catastrophic failure that we have not intervened in any meaningful way.⁣

I will never not be ashamed. For my entire life I have never been afraid to step up, to be THERE, to confront the monster, or to comfort the grieving. It’s all I know.⁣

So watching this genocide is breaking something inside of me. It’s not how I am wired. I don’t know how anyone could be wired differently. ⁣

We were not meant to such things happen to human beings and then NOT intervene.⁣

We were built TO INTERVENE. ⁣

It’s proof that you are a human. That you are alive. With a heart. ⁣

What we have all been asked, or better yet, lulled, into doing is just gross and horrific.⁣

We are all expected to not only know of these atrocities, but we are expected to see and hear them, AND DO NEXT TO NOTHING.⁣

I’m telling you, that’s not a natural human response.⁣

What broke me today was the extreme sadness and devastation that I saw and heard from parents whose children had just been obliterated. These parents had protected their kids for 10 months of non stop murder. Only for today to be their worst nightmare.⁣

I saw a Palestinian father, earnestly, very seriously, trying to wake up his son, who was very clearly dead. ⁣

I saw a woman with a bag of flesh that she was told was her probably her child. The level of despair on her face was beyond words. What was she thinking? What would you think?⁣

It’s all way too much. That’s an understatement. ⁣
⁣
It’s terrorism, 24/7. It’s like 9/11, but over and over and over and over and over again, and again, and again. Not to a country the size of the US, but to a country smaller THAN BROOKLYN, New York. Gaza has fewer people than BROOKLYN, but has experienced 14 9/11s. ⁣

What are we talking about here?⁣

And now it appears it’s all starting in the West Bank. A new genocide. ⁣
⁣
We will all regret the day we didn’t do so much more.

It’s not a remotely fair fight. It’s basically the United States and Israel and the UK and Germany against Palestinians, but one thing I know, you will not slaughter tens of thousands of Palestinians without suffering your own losses like this almost daily.
